We are building Furava deliberately and in the open. This page tracks where the product actually stands — including the decisions that changed our minds.

Where CORE stands

  • 1. Research and systems mapping

    Complete. Mapping canine aging across body systems and identifying which are meaningfully addressable by daily supplementation.

    Complete. Ingredient selection, dose modelling, and the weight-tiered dosing structure.

  • 3. Manufacturer selection and R&D

    In progress. Sourcing quotes, feasibility review, and formulation R&D with contract manufacturers.

Decisions that changed the formula

We added cardiac support. An early version of the formula had no heart ingredient at all. A systems-coverage review made that omission obvious, and taurine and L-carnitine went in. It is now one of the strongest parts of the product.

We replaced fish oil with algae. Omega-3s were missing from the first formula entirely — a significant gap for a product claiming whole-body support. When we added them, fish oil failed on oxidative stability in a dry format. Algae solved it.

We chose postbiotics over probiotics. Live cultures do not reliably survive shelf life in a dry topper. Rather than list them anyway, we went with a mechanism that actually works in this format.

We added dental support. Sodium hexametaphosphate was not on our original list. It is unglamorous, functional chemistry, and it covers a system almost no daily topper addresses.

We moved to weight-tiered dosing. The original specification used a single flat scoop. Dogs range across a twenty-fold weight span. A single scoop cannot be correct for all of them, so we rebuilt the dosing structure.

We cut six ingredients. Redundancy, poor bioavailability, thin canine evidence, and in one case a safety margin we were not comfortable with.

Open questions we have not resolved

Container size. We are evaluating a trial size against a full daily-supply size. Smaller containers carry higher cost per serving because packaging and fill costs are largely fixed.

Palatability approach. MSM is bitter. We are weighing a coated or microencapsulated MSM particle against relying on the flavour system alone.

Ingredient forms. Several ingredients have premium and standard forms with meaningfully different costs. We are working through which upgrades change outcomes and which only change the label.

We would rather show these open questions than present a finished story that is not finished.

Where the line goes from here

  • CORE — the daily foundation

    Six systems supported together for healthy adult dogs. The base layer everything else is designed around. In development now.

  • Organ-specific support

    Kidney and liver health are among the most consequential areas in aging dogs, and among the hardest to address responsibly at a single fixed dose. We would rather build a dedicated product than include a token amount in CORE.

    Under research.

  • Targeted companion products

    Calm and stress support was cut from CORE despite reasonable evidence, because it serves a different need than daily longevity. It belongs in its own product, dosed properly, rather than diluted into this one.

  • Furava Labs

    Our longer-horizon research effort, looking at emerging science in canine healthspan beyond conventional supplementation.

    Exploratory. We will publish what we learn, including the parts that do not work out.
